A family story, transformed into wine.

In Montalcino, amidst red lands and tradition, three generations carry on a winery made of people, stories, and passion.

Four generations of women and a deep connection to Montalcino

“Corte dei Venti” is a company that has always been linked to the strong personalities of women, starting with Duilia Cerretani, born in 1923, then her daughter Silvana, her granddaughter Clara, and finally her great-granddaughter Elena – four generations of women who are still the heart and soul of the agricultural and wine-making activities. Born from a passion and deep connection with the land and wine, which have always tied the family to the Montalcino area, La Corte dei Venti has an ancient history: the village, of clear medieval origins, was certainly rebuilt in 1870, as evidenced by the inscription on a brick above the entrance door, then renovated in 1938 and finally purchased by Donna Duilia in 1943.

From Rural Tradition to the Birth of Brunello

Thus, Clara preserves intact true memories, images, and values, as befits true country folk: "In the 1940s, the farm covered about 100 hectares of land, where pigs, sheep, and cows were raised, but they already had machinery for cultivating the land and for earthmoving. I can still see myself, as if in a dream, with my grandmother Duilia herding the imposing Chianina cows, and I remember her spinning wool with a spindle or making cheese at home. Just as I remember my grandfather Alessandro hanging well-salted hams from a beam in the cellar... Meanwhile, in 1964, my parents Silvana and Alfeo Monaci got married; he was one of my grandfather's trusted men. Everything remained that way until around 1975, when my grandfather, having grown old, began to reduce the livestock, and in a part of the land removed from pasture, he established vineyards in the early 1980s, with the grapes being sold to the Cantina Sociale." The first Brunello de La Corte dei Venti is from the 2007 vintage and quickly achieved a status of excellence thanks to Clara's truly contagious enthusiasm, as she watched her creation grow year after year, earning awards and recognition from international critics.

Vintners in Montalcino since 1943

From a different land, a different wine is born.

We are in Montalcino, but in a unique area.

Here the soil is red. A rare soil, not found throughout the region, which gives life to a unique, authentic, recognizable expression of wine.

It is from here that our "Brunello di Montalcino" is born.

A wine that tells exactly where we are.

Hospitality

Clara's hospitality, as she joyfully opens the doors of her estate every day

But Clara is also famous for her genuine hospitality, offering tasting experiences that include a visit to both the cellar and the vineyard, lasting approximately 2 hours, from 11 AM to 4 PM. If you arrive around 11:30 AM, it will extend a bit longer, as the oil and wine tasting is accompanied by bruschetta, platters of cured meats and cheeses, cantucci, and coffee. Additionally, Clara also offers a picnic tasting package in the vineyard under ancient oak trees or centuries-old olive trees, for which a basket is prepared containing 4 organic wines (Rosato di Sangiovese, Le Terre Rosse IGT, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG), a tasting bottle of organic extra virgin olive oil, accompanied by bread, cured meats, and cheese. The basket, glasses, and tablecloth must be returned at the end of the picnic to the tasting room, where welcome guests will be offered coffee. Not to mention that children are hosted free of charge and pets are welcome.

It's not just a tasting. It's a moment to share.
